this poem is dedicated to World Jam 2008, to all its participants and to pachamama...painting by Valentina Campos
we have met in the belly of pachamama
it's home, welcome home!
we checked out our armors
in silent agreement
it's time to crack open the heart
let in the light, stop the fight,
get dizzy with the height
of truth, love and solidarity
in the belly of pachamama
this is solid territory
ain't no fear
All I feel
is an all encompassing love
"and I lay my life before you
how I love you"
this love, this sweet little song
is entering my mind,
entering my body,
entering my soul
and healing the cracks,
the broken interior, the despair, the doubts
atom by atom, it's washing me clean
in the belly of pachamama
we are one,
there ain't no separation!
that we are on different sides,
it's all an illusion.
As I stand next to my brothers and sisters
I feel the oneness
tasting our common pain
our common joy
of being alive
in the belly of pachamama
is this world insane?
why is there so much rage, so much pain?
we want a different world
we work hard every moment, every day
with our hearts, fingertips, blood and all
pouring our souls
into healing this humanity
stretched so so thin
Pachamama,
hear our prayers,
help us heal ourselves
so we can be stronger as your children
to channel your love, your light
to sore hearts, broken bodies and
desperate minds,
to malnourished souls.
finally;
surrounded by puma, condor and serpent
we slowly tend ourlselves
to our ancient pain we all know so well
we allow ourselves to open, open,
open wide as the sky
there ain't no separation!
sacred circle holds us
as we witness one another
hold space for each other
we grow strong, we grow bold
our feet deeply rooted in pachamama
our hands hold tight one another
our hearts sing together
and we return home
with love and blessings of each other
in the belly of pachamama.
